Ink Blending Techniques: AECP

Hello everyone! I’ve been working away diligently on the AECP courses and loving every minute. This card is inspired by the “Ink Blending Techniques” course taught by Amy Lee.  First I masked off a border from the card panel, so that when I ink blend I would be left with a thick white border. I combined a few techniques discussed in the course such as the emboss resist and ink blending the background panel. I embossed the flowers from the “Charming Flowers” stampset in white. This might be an exclusive stampset from the “SCT Crop and Create” event since I am not finding it on the website.  Then I ink blended Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Grapes, and Blueprint Sketch on top. I chose darker colors to really show a strong contrast against the white embossing. It looks stunning! Next, I cut out the “Hello Friend” sentiment from the  Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers . I did the background in vellum to soften the look and did the sentime...

For The Guys: AECP

Hey all! I’m back with another card for my AECP journey! Today, I am showing a card inspired by the “For the Guys” class taught by Jennifer Rzasa. I think most of us can agree that masculine cards are HARD. Luckily, the techniques taught in this class made it easy to put this card together!  I used the “Geometric” technique discussed in the course and used the  Grid Stencil  to create the background. I originally wanted to ink blend but then I decided to use the  Acrylic Markers . I really wanted that deep, saturated look and these markers were perfect! They are very opaque and loved the color range. I used shades of blue, gray and black and colored them randomly to create the background. For the sentiment, I used the Birthday Wishes  stampset. I did a light stamping of numbers to accent the birthday sentiment. I mounted the card panel on black cardstock to finish off the card! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram ...

Celebration Stencil Techniques: AECP

Hello everyone! Today’s card showcases my final card after the “Celebration Stencil Techniques” class taught by Laurel Beard for  the  Altenew Educator Certification Program ! I will admit that I don’t use stencils as much as I should..and when I do it is the very basic ink blending use that they are typically used for. I was delighted (and maybe a little scared?!) to see the various ways to use techniques in this class!  The main one I wanted to focus on was using embossing in the background. I used a gorgeous Rose gold embossing powder on the  Deco Wallpaper Stencil . I decided to give it a more “grungy” look by not embossing the whole panel and letting it fade out towards the top. I love how it turned out. I am all for adding as much shine and shimmer as possible so I love this technique.  Next I used the  Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers  stamp and stencil to create the floral images. I used the layering stencil and love ho...

Clean & Simple Boutique: AECP

Hello everyone! I’m here sharing my final card after completing the “Clean & Simple Boutique” cards taught by Jennifer Rzasa. This is part of  the  Altenew Educator Certification Program  that I am so honored to be a part of!  Out of all the classes I have taken so far, THIS has to be my favorite! There were so many techniques and tips in this class I actually ended up jotting down notes so I wouldn’t forget!  I will say my style is evolving, but most of my cards tend to gravitate towards the “Clean and Simple” (CAS) look so this was right up my alley. I definitely went out of my comfort zone with some of the methods here.  The main technique that unfortunately is so hard to capture on camera, is the “Faux Letterpress/Embossing” technique for the sentiment. I couldn’t stop running my fingers over the sentiment because I loved the embossed feel it gave to the card. I used the  Timeless Sentiment Die set The next method I want...

All Dressed Up is the amazing sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo! To be 100% honest, Halloween cards are not ones I make often this image might change that! I had so much coloring this image in with alocohol markers and then I mounted it on black cardstock. For the web, I used my Cricut (yay!!! My husband will be happy to hear I am putting it to use). I found a spider web SVG and cut it on some silver cardstock. I glued it on purple cardstock and foam taped my image on top if it. I embellished with some sequins and opaque white Nuvo Drops!  Thanks for stopping by! I was eagerly awaiting to receive my SSS September 2021 card kit in the mail! I love the sunflower theme and all the patterned papers! I was too excited to make my first card so I made a quick one where I let the paper do all the work :). I LOVE all the papers from the P13 Four Seasons-summer set! I think I will have to buy more! [Happy Hippo] Birthday Card

I was in need of a birthday card for a birthday party this weekend..but was kind of in a creative rut. So I found a sketch online to follow! I realized getting some inspiration is just the boost I needed. I used this super cute hippo image from 2cuteInk . I colored in the hippo with my alcohol markers and used some patterned cardstock for the background. I used some white pearls to embellish the card!  I submitted this card to the following challenge: Tuesday Morning Sketches #622 Thanks for stopping by! On the stripes, I stamped the sentiment "You're the best" and "So sweet" in alternating stripes.                                           I cut out two different sizes circles from pink and patterned pink cardstock. Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group !  Fall is right around the corner (even though summer felt like 0.2 seconds) so I am definitely getting in the Fall cozy mode. I got this perfectly Fall themed stamp set from Sassy and Crafty "Pumpkin Spice". I colored all the images using alcohol markers and arranged them on the corner of some patterned cardstock. I used some  twine to add some more interest and used opaque yellow and gold dots to embellish. I stamped the sentiment with gold powder on some green cardstock and used twine to make a bow and attached it to the card. Thanks for stopping by! [Never Grow Up] Sassy and Crafty Promo #2

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up" stampset! I also chose the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil! I though this was perfect for many scenes, like beach, ocean or a fantasy/fairy theme like this card! The first thing I did was use Catherine Pooler Ink in "All that Jazz" and the "Mermaid" stencil to make the background. I used the stencil again and embossed over with a blue powder to give it some depth and dimension. I colored the fairy stamped image with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out. On some blue cardstock, I used silver embossing powder and stamped the stars and then stamped the sentiment in a black ink. I arranged the images on a pink cardstock for some contrast and attached it to a card panel :). Love how fun this card turned out! I ent...

[Leave a Little Sparkle] Sassy and Crafty Promo #1

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up"  stampset!  When I saw this set, I started to imagine lots of shine and glitter.  Enter--> Foiling!  I don't have a foiling machine..nor I do I plan to buy one soon but I came across lots of no-heat foiling techniques using  iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo . I used the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil and applied the Transfer Gel Duo. After letting it dry until it was clear, I took pink foil and laid it on top then peeled it off. I like the textured effect this gave, to give a more solid look, I think I would need to add more gel. I wanted to go for a "no line" coloring effect. So I stamped the two fairies in a light brown/tan ink from Stampin' Up. I colored the images in with colored pencil and fussy...

[Cupcake Treat] Di's Digi Stamps Birthday Card

I am still practicing and improving my coloring skills-especially with alcohol markers. I am thinking to buy more colors to expand my set, but haven't taken the plunge yet. Please let me know in the comments any alcohol marker sets/color combo suggestions! This digital stamp, Cupcake Treat , by Di's Digital Stamp, was perfect for coloring! I created the background by using tape to mask a criss-cross pattern. I then blended three Distress Ink colors to create a fun, colorful pattern.   I put the image on a light blue cardstock and used some white glitter washi tape to add some interest in the back of the mat. I embossed the "bring on the cake" sentiment from Stampin' Up! I then used my Cricut to cut out the "happy birthday" sentiment and embellished with some sequins!  I submitted this card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #110 Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Week 33 Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge #164 Angies Digital Stamps C...

[Merry Little Wish] Multi-Occasion Card

I've seen so many beautiful projects using Distress Oxides and I finally got my hands on some! I ink blended the background using Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint and Weathered Wood. I splattered some water to create a fun effect. I stamped Stampin Up "Festival Trees" in Intense Black and attached a white circle around it as a frame. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I think white embossing on black is one of my favorite techniques! I embellished with white opaque Nuvo Drops and also with some clear and white sequins. I entered the card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Ch 109 Ally's Angel Challenge #49 TTCRD Anything Goes Challenge Thanks for stopping by! [Fantasy: Cute Witch] DT: The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #272

Hey everyone! We have another lovely challenge at  The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog ! The theme for this challenge is FANTASY sponsored by  Chubby Mermaid . I chose this "Cute Witch Halloween" digital stamp and printed it in white cardstock. I colored it with my alcohol markers.  I looked all around my stash for the right sentiment, but couldn't find one. So I made my own! I took my embossing pen and wrote my sentiment and then embossed in gold glitter. Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! Jill

[Birthday Wishes] Simon Says Stamp August 2021

I was in the mood to craft today and looked around my cardmaking collection and felt compelled to make another card using the August 2021 Simon Says Stamp Kit. I decided to use more of the patterned cardstock this time since it coordinates so well with the stamps in the kit. I stamped the frog, lily pad and crown and colored in using my alcohol markers. I used my Cricut machine to cut a tag with the plaid yellow cardstock and a circle from white cardstock. I am really trying to use my Cricut more for cardmaking! I stamped the "wishing you the best day ever" sentiment that I had in my collection on a kraft cardstock and used foam squares to prop it up a bit. I embellished with some enamel dots!   Be sure to check out my Instagram to see a reel on this card also!  Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! [One in a Mermaid] Multi Occasion Card

I came across this "Beautiful Mermaids" stampset in my collection from Simon Says Stamp. Gorgeous images and perfect for coloring! I made the background by tearing cardstock sheets. The white core of the cardstock really was the perfect touch when tearing, because it gave the effect of the white "foam" that the ocean waves have. I just loved this! I colored the mermaid images with my alcohol markers alongside with the fish, pineapple and starfish. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and propped it up with some foam squares! Finally, I embellished with sequins :) I submitted this card to the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #108 Simon Says: Heat Emboss Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #409 613 Avenue Create:August 2021 - Challenge #8 Dare 2B Artyzy: August Thanks for stopping by! [BIRTHDAY KISSES] Birthday Card

All Dressed Up really has the cutest images! There are so many I have saved to create with later but for this card I used a  freebie from their site. Instead of my usual alcohol markers, I colored these with colored pencils! I mounted the image on red cardstock and then chose this super cute "kiss" patterned paper from the "Get Glam" Recollections patterned paper pack as the background. I rarely make  square cards so decided to make this one a square one!  I heat embossed this cute "Happy Birthday to YOU" sentiment in white on the same red cardstock that I used earlier. Finally, I embellished the card with a white bow! I entered this card in the following challenges: All Dressed Up: July Challenge #119 August 2021 Challenge #90 Crafts Galore Encore Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Anything Goes Polkadoodles Week 31-Anything Goes  Thanks for stopping by! [No one like You] Multi-Occasion Card

I recently organized my clear stamps in a much more easy to find method (head over to my Instagram to see it) and I came across this lovely "Woodland Creatures" stamp set I had from HeroArts. I never used this to make a card so decided to finally put it to use! These mushrooms were colored with my colored pencils and I propped the blue mushroom with some foam tape. I stamped the sentiment (also from the stampset) and added it on some blue cardstock with foam squares. I am ALL ABOUT dimension! I decided to keep it simple and embellished with some Opaque white Nuvo drops!  I have entered this card in the following challenges: QKR Stampede-Anything goes ABMTTC Extra #August Challenge - Anything Goes Color It!Create It! [Party Cats] DT: The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #271

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing my DT project for The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog . The theme is "Anything Goes" sponsored by Digi Doodle Studio . Head on over to the blog and join the fun! Leave a comment if you submit a card, I'd love to see your entry!  I chose the "Party Cats" image by DigiDoodles! I colored in the image with my very loved alcohol markers.   I felt it still needed a little something extra, so I reprinted the image and cut out some accents (balloons, and the party blowouts) and propped them up with some foam tape. I also embossed the tops of the party hats for some extra glitter! I stamped the "it's your birthday" sentiment three times on pink and teal cardstock and then aligned it vertically. Lastly, I mounted it on a yellow cardstock to really make it pop! I have entered this card in the following challenges: QKR Stampede-Anything goes ABMTTC Extra #August Challenge - Anything Goes Color It!Create It! Show it off! Augus...
