For The Guys: AECP

Hey all! I’m back with another card for my AECP journey! Today, I am showing a card inspired by the “For the Guys” class taught by Jennifer Rzasa. I think most of us can agree that masculine cards are HARD. Luckily, the techniques taught in this class made it easy to put this card together!  I used the “Geometric” technique discussed in the course and used the  Grid Stencil  to create the background. I originally wanted to ink blend but then I decided to use the  Acrylic Markers . I really wanted that deep, saturated look and these markers were perfect! They are very opaque and loved the color range. I used shades of blue, gray and black and colored them randomly to create the background. For the sentiment, I used the Birthday Wishes  stampset. I did a light stamping of numbers to accent the birthday sentiment. I mounted the card panel on black cardstock to finish off the card! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram ...

Celebration Stencil Techniques: AECP

Hello everyone! Today’s card showcases my final card after the “Celebration Stencil Techniques” class taught by Laurel Beard for  the  Altenew Educator Certification Program ! I will admit that I don’t use stencils as much as I should..and when I do it is the very basic ink blending use that they are typically used for. I was delighted (and maybe a little scared?!) to see the various ways to use techniques in this class!  The main one I wanted to focus on was using embossing in the background. I used a gorgeous Rose gold embossing powder on the  Deco Wallpaper Stencil . I decided to give it a more “grungy” look by not embossing the whole panel and letting it fade out towards the top. I love how it turned out. I am all for adding as much shine and shimmer as possible so I love this technique.  Next I used the  Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers  stamp and stencil to create the floral images. I used the layering stencil and love ho...

[Pheonix and Ella Urban Bestie Doll] DT: The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #273

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing my DT project for  The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog . The theme is "Anything Goes" sponsored by My Besties Shop .  Head on over to the blog and join the fun! Leave a comment if you submit a card, I'd love to see your entry!  The image I used is the "Pheonix and Ella Urban Bestie Doll 01" . I colored this in using my alcohol markers. To create the background I ink blended Stampin' Up Spot Inks in Only Orange and Fuschia. I used masking tape to mask off some stripes. On the stripes, I stamped the sentiment "You're the best" and "So sweet" in alternating stripes.                                           I cut out two different sizes circles from pink and patterned pink cardstock. I stamped a simple "Happy Birthday" in white embossing powder and embellished the card with some sequins!  Thanks for stopping by! Follow ...

[Never Grow Up] Sassy and Crafty Promo #2

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up" stampset! I also chose the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil! I though this was perfect for many scenes, like beach, ocean or a fantasy/fairy theme like this card! The first thing I did was use Catherine Pooler Ink in "All that Jazz" and the "Mermaid" stencil to make the background. I used the stencil again and embossed over with a blue powder to give it some depth and dimension. I colored the fairy stamped image with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out. On some blue cardstock, I used silver embossing powder and stamped the stars and then stamped the sentiment in a black ink. I arranged the images on a pink cardstock for some contrast and attached it to a card panel :). Love how fun this card turned out! I ent...

[Leave a Little Sparkle] Sassy and Crafty Promo #1

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up"  stampset!  When I saw this set, I started to imagine lots of shine and glitter.  Enter--> Foiling!  I don't have a foiling machine..nor I do I plan to buy one soon but I came across lots of no-heat foiling techniques using  iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo . I used the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil and applied the Transfer Gel Duo. After letting it dry until it was clear, I took pink foil and laid it on top then peeled it off. I like the textured effect this gave, to give a more solid look, I think I would need to add more gel. I wanted to go for a "no line" coloring effect. So I stamped the two fairies in a light brown/tan ink from Stampin' Up. I colored the images in with colored pencil and fussy...

[Cupcake Treat] Di's Digi Stamps Birthday Card

I am still practicing and improving my coloring skills-especially with alcohol markers. I am thinking to buy more colors to expand my set, but haven't taken the plunge yet. Please let me know in the comments any alcohol marker sets/color combo suggestions! This digital stamp, Cupcake Treat , by Di's Digital Stamp, was perfect for coloring! I created the background by using tape to mask a criss-cross pattern. I then blended three Distress Ink colors to create a fun, colorful pattern.   I put the image on a light blue cardstock and used some white glitter washi tape to add some interest in the back of the mat. I embossed the "bring on the cake" sentiment from Stampin' Up! I then used my Cricut to cut out the "happy birthday" sentiment and embellished with some sequins!  I submitted this card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #110 Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Week 33 Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge #164 Angies Digital Stamps C...

[SQUIRREL!] Sweet Sentiment New Release

Sweet Sentiment  has a new release! How FUN is this stamp set?! I haven't seen one like this before so it was so much to create with. I loved the different nuts that were included and the first thing that came to mind was SHAKER CARD! I printed the nuts multiple times along with the chipmunks and colored them in using alcohol markers. I used a cloud stencil to create a soft sky wash in the background of the card. I attached "The World has gone NUTS" sentiment to the upper right corner of my window shaker panel. I scattered some of the colored nuts and glued them down. I originally wanted the nuts to be my shaker elements but sometimes they would flip upside down and exposed the back of paper-it wasn't too pretty! So decided to glue them down and use seed beads and sequins as my shaker elements. I attached the colored chipmunks around the window shaker pan and added some more nuts too. I think this card is just too fun!   I entered this card in the following challenges...

[Sending Hugs] Patterned Paper Series #2

I wanted to share a super quick card using the Make-a-Pond stencil that I received in my Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit. I used the floral stencil and use two shades of pink of my Stampin' Up Ink spots and did a few flowers embossed in silver for a little shine.  Stenciling with my Make-a-pond stencil Another way I like to use patterned paper is the base for my dies! I have this alphabet die set and I die cut the word "hugs." I was originally thinking of a patterned pink paper, but I like the contrast the teal gives.  Using patterned paper for my dies! I stamped the "Sending you" sentiment from Winnie&Walter in black and used foam squares to prop it up for dimension. Finally, I added some sequins for some added sparkle! Thanks for stopping by! [Toadally Awesome] Simon Says Stamp August 2021 Monthly Card Kit

I finally caved and subscribed to the Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card Kit and received my August 2021 Box. It is filled with fun frog, toad and plant related stamps, papers and embellishments! For my first card, of course I had to make a shaker card! I used to find shaker cards so intimidating, but now I'm getting the hang of it. But I came across these foam fronts which make making shaker cards so easy! I had to pop out the foam insert and I stamped the sentiment and butterfly stamps. I stamped the frog image and some extra flowers and butterflies on white cardstock and colored it in with my alcohol markers.  I used the cloud stencil with my Stampin' Up Ink spot to create the sky effect. I filled the shaker card with the frog and flower embellishments that came in my box and added some green sequins for a little extra sparkle (I also feel like I never use green sequins!) These frog and flower embellishments are *toadally* adorable! I love how it turned out! Do you love making ...

[Oceans of Joy] Multi-Occasion Card

I am still building my cardmaking collection, and it is SO easy to get into the blackhole of buying endless craft supplies. I really need to stop myself. I came across this adorable ocean themed stamp set,  Oceans of Joy , from Sunny Studio Stamps! Head on over to my Instagram to see a reel on how I made this card!     I wanted to create a fun wavey background so I took some scrap cardstock and cut a "wave" pattern and used it as my stencil with a blending sponge and my Stampin' Up spot inks. I LOVE how it turned out. I wanted to add more texture so I purposefully blended with differing pressures to get some texture in the background. I can't wait to make and use more stencils in my cardmaking. I stamped the sentiment, whale, crab, and water images using my misty on some textured white cardstock and colored in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. In hindsight, I wish I had used a smooth white cardstock instead, as it makes the coloring look a little messier than I...
