Clean & Simple Boutique: AECP

Hello everyone! I’m here sharing my final card after completing the “Clean & Simple Boutique” cards taught by Jennifer Rzasa. This is part of the Altenew Educator Certification Program that I am so honored to be a part of!

Out of all the classes I have taken so far, THIS has to be my favorite! There were so many techniques and tips in this class I actually ended up jotting down notes so I wouldn’t forget!

I will say my style is evolving, but most of my cards tend to gravitate towards the “Clean and Simple” (CAS) look so this was right up my alley. I definitely went out of my comfort zone with some of the methods here.

The main technique that unfortunately is so hard to capture on camera, is the “Faux Letterpress/Embossing” technique for the sentiment. I couldn’t stop running my fingers over the sentiment because I loved the embossed feel it gave to the card. I used the Timeless Sentiment Die set

The next method I wanted to incorporate was the “Simple Styling” on the images and sentiment. I used a thicker black marker to outline and accentuate parts of the flowers and sentiment. I think it gave a really unique look and adds some interest to the simple card. I used the Painted Flowers Add on Stampset. Lastly, I used metallic watercolors to add some soft embellishment to the card. I think it ties together the card nicely!

[Salt and Pepper] Brutus Monroe

Hey all! Valentine's Day is right around the corner!  I created this card by cutting  paper strips from the "Be Mine" Paper pad and staggering them on the left side. Then I stamped the "Salt&Pepper" stamp and sentiment using Detail Ink in Raven and colored it in with alcohol markers.  Thanks for stopping by! [Oceans of Joy] Multi-Occasion Card

I am still building my cardmaking collection, and it is SO easy to get into the blackhole of buying endless craft supplies. I really need to stop myself. I came across this adorable ocean themed stamp set,  Oceans of Joy , from Sunny Studio Stamps! Head on over to my Instagram to see a reel on how I made this card!     I wanted to create a fun wavey background so I took some scrap cardstock and cut a "wave" pattern and used it as my stencil with a blending sponge and my Stampin' Up spot inks. I LOVE how it turned out. I wanted to add more texture so I purposefully blended with differing pressures to get some texture in the background. I can't wait to make and use more stencils in my cardmaking. I stamped the sentiment, whale, crab, and water images using my misty on some textured white cardstock and colored in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. In hindsight, I wish I had used a smooth white cardstock instead, as it makes the coloring look a little messier than I...

All About Layering 3: AECP

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!! I was recently accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program and can’t think of a better way to start off the year!  I think anyone who is a floral lover knows that Altenew has some of THE best stamps, dies and stencils. It was one of the first brands I purchased when I started out my paper crafting journey. Of course, they have so much more than florals in their shop and I am so excited to dive into this process. I’ve already started some of the classes and it has really reinvigorated my passion for crafting and card making. I’ve brushed on some techniques and also picked up some really great tips along the way! Let’s take a closer look at the first class I completed… The first class I did was the “All About Layering 3” course taught by Lydia Evans. To be honest, I went into this course thinking I was a Layering Expert (dare I say, Layering Queen .. I don’t think I’ve ever made a card without some sort of layering)…but to my surprise, I...
