Celebration Stencil Techniques: AECP

Hello everyone! Today’s card showcases my final card after the “Celebration Stencil Techniques” class taught by Laurel Beard for  the  Altenew Educator Certification Program ! I will admit that I don’t use stencils as much as I should..and when I do it is the very basic ink blending use that they are typically used for. I was delighted (and maybe a little scared?!) to see the various ways to use techniques in this class!  The main one I wanted to focus on was using embossing in the background. I used a gorgeous Rose gold embossing powder on the  Deco Wallpaper Stencil . I decided to give it a more “grungy” look by not embossing the whole panel and letting it fade out towards the top. I love how it turned out. I am all for adding as much shine and shimmer as possible so I love this technique.  Next I used the  Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers  stamp and stencil to create the floral images. I used the layering stencil and love ho...

[Enjoy Today] Simon Says Stamp September Kit #2

I loved this floral bouquet stamp included in the SSS September Card Kit! I colored it in with my alcohol markers and mounted it on some green cardstock that was included in the kit. I also mounted the Tim Holtz sentiment sticker on the same green cardstock. I used a bright yellow cardstock as as the slimline card base. I decided to use these gold seed beads in the flower centers for some added fun and dimension! I entered this card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Ch 114 Make My Monday: #157 Autumn/Fall Card Crafty Catz #564- Anything Goes Polkadoodles: Wk 38 Anything Goes Colour Crazy Challenge: Week 37 Thanks for stopping by! [Floral Birthday Wishes] Simon Says Stamp Card Kit September 2021 #1

I was eagerly awaiting to receive my SSS September 2021 card kit in the mail! I love the sunflower theme and all the patterned papers! I was too excited to make my first card so I made a quick one where I let the paper do all the work :). I LOVE all the papers from the P13 Four Seasons-summer set! I think I will have to buy more! I used the "happy birthday" sentiment die included and cut it twice for some added dimension. I used some gold foil washi tape to add a little extra sparkle and embellished with some gold nuvo drops and sequins!  Thanks for stopping by! [Monochrome Blue] August: Simply Too Create DT

Hello! For this month's challenge at Simply Too Create , the theme is "Monochromatic". Please head on over and check out the challenge! Leave a comment if you submit an entry as I would love to check it out!  I decided to go for an all blue monochrome look as I was inspired by this ribbon I saw in my stash. I started out diecutting the "How Kind of You" Sizzlit sentiment in a baby blue cardstock. I had these wooden floral stamps that I stamped as a background in differing shades of blue. I mounted the panel on the same cardstock as the sentiment and topped it off with the ribbon that started it all :)  Thanks for stopping by! [Lotus Blossom] Get Well Card

I'm a creature of habit, anyone else? I feel like my card layouts were starting to look the same so I decided to mix up the layout a bit with different patterned papers. I used the "Lotus Blossom" Layering stamps from Stampin' Up for the first time and am loving how the flower turned out! I cut out the flower bud from the stem and propped it up with some foam squares. I cut out a small rectangle cardstock and mounted that on different designer papers from Stampin' Up. I decided not to embellish this card with sequins to give it a nice clean and simple look!  Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! Jill

[Thank you Tulips]

I got in the zone coloring this gorgeous Tulip Image from Sheepski Designs. I thought it was so beautiful yet simple, I wanted it to be the main focus of this card. I colored it with my alcohol markers, experimenting more with blending and trying different color combinations. I embossed this "thank you" sentiment with red embossing powder. I decided to layer it on two different Stampin' Up cardstocks to give it some design interest. Of course, I embellished with some sequins!   Thanks for stopping by! [Sending Hugs] Patterned Paper Series #2

I wanted to share a super quick card using the Make-a-Pond stencil that I received in my Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit. I used the floral stencil and use two shades of pink of my Stampin' Up Ink spots and did a few flowers embossed in silver for a little shine.  Stenciling with my Make-a-pond stencil Another way I like to use patterned paper is the base for my dies! I have this alphabet die set and I die cut the word "hugs." I was originally thinking of a patterned pink paper, but I like the contrast the teal gives.  Using patterned paper for my dies! I stamped the "Sending you" sentiment from Winnie&Walter in black and used foam squares to prop it up for dimension. Finally, I added some sequins for some added sparkle! Thanks for stopping by! [Layered Up] The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #270

Exciting news....I've joined another Design Team as part of The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog! I'm so excited for this opportunity! It's been so fun seeing the previous work of the other team members and getting to know the team.  There are challenges twice a month (on the 1st and 15th) with sponsors and prizes! Check it out and be sure to submit your creations- I can't wait to see them. Now on to the challenge.... The theme was "Layered Up" and the digital image I chose, Fred's Dahlia's, was sponsored by Fred She Said .  There's about a billion different ways you can use these floral and leaves images! Endless possibilities.  I printed these images on White cardstock (I printed the images in multiple sizes to get more variety) and colored them in using colored pencils. I embossed the flower and leave centers with gold embossing powder. I love adding little details in my cards! The hardest part was arranging the florals..I just couldn't de...

[Pink and White Florals] Welcome Baby card

I’m back with another white on white embossed card! I really love this technique-the clean, soft, elegant look it gives! I stamped these flower images and then embossed with white embossing powder. I colored in using a paint brush dipped in my Stampin!Up inks. Lately, I have been drawn to “painting” with inks. It gives an almost watercolor look to it, and I get use out of my ink supply! I decided to split the panel with my paper cutter to make the card a little more unique, I added the “Welcome baby” sentiment with a pink embossing powder and propped it up with my trusty foam squares.   Glued it on some soft pink card stock and attached it to a white card front! Thank you for stopping by! Jill  I submitted this card into the following challenges: A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge #142 - Anything Goes Sisterhood of Crafters-Anything Goes

[Watercolor Anemones] Thinking of you

This was one of the first cards I created using layering stamps sets! It used the layering stamp set, Watercolor Anemones, from WPlus9. I thought I'd experiment with using the same color layered multiple times for the flowers instead of using various layering colors. I love the subtle effect it gives! I added a few Nuvo drops on top and topped it off with a "sending you love" sentiment. This can be used for multiple occasions!
