Ink Blending Techniques: AECP

Hello everyone! I’ve been working away diligently on the AECP courses and loving every minute. This card is inspired by the “Ink Blending Techniques” course taught by Amy Lee.  First I masked off a border from the card panel, so that when I ink blend I would be left with a thick white border. I combined a few techniques discussed in the course such as the emboss resist and ink blending the background panel. I embossed the flowers from the “Charming Flowers” stampset in white. This might be an exclusive stampset from the “SCT Crop and Create” event since I am not finding it on the website.  Then I ink blended Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Grapes, and Blueprint Sketch on top. I chose darker colors to really show a strong contrast against the white embossing. It looks stunning! Next, I cut out the “Hello Friend” sentiment from the  Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers . I did the background in vellum to soften the look and did the sentime...

[Autumn Smile] Sassy and Crafty Promo #3

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group !  Fall is right around the corner (even though summer felt like 0.2 seconds) so I am definitely getting in the Fall cozy mode. I got this perfectly Fall themed stamp set from Sassy and Crafty "Pumpkin Spice". I colored all the images using alcohol markers and arranged them on the corner of some patterned cardstock. I used some  twine to add some more interest and used opaque yellow and gold dots to embellish. I stamped the sentiment with gold powder on some green cardstock and used twine to make a bow and attached it to the card. Thanks for stopping by! [Never Grow Up] Sassy and Crafty Promo #2

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up" stampset! I also chose the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil! I though this was perfect for many scenes, like beach, ocean or a fantasy/fairy theme like this card! The first thing I did was use Catherine Pooler Ink in "All that Jazz" and the "Mermaid" stencil to make the background. I used the stencil again and embossed over with a blue powder to give it some depth and dimension. I colored the fairy stamped image with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out. On some blue cardstock, I used silver embossing powder and stamped the stars and then stamped the sentiment in a black ink. I arranged the images on a pink cardstock for some contrast and attached it to a card panel :). Love how fun this card turned out! I ent...

[Leave a Little Sparkle] Sassy and Crafty Promo #1

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up"  stampset!  When I saw this set, I started to imagine lots of shine and glitter.  Enter--> Foiling!  I don't have a foiling machine..nor I do I plan to buy one soon but I came across lots of no-heat foiling techniques using  iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo . I used the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil and applied the Transfer Gel Duo. After letting it dry until it was clear, I took pink foil and laid it on top then peeled it off. I like the textured effect this gave, to give a more solid look, I think I would need to add more gel. I wanted to go for a "no line" coloring effect. So I stamped the two fairies in a light brown/tan ink from Stampin' Up. I colored the images in with colored pencil and fussy...

[Cupcake Treat] Di's Digi Stamps Birthday Card

I am still practicing and improving my coloring skills-especially with alcohol markers. I am thinking to buy more colors to expand my set, but haven't taken the plunge yet. Please let me know in the comments any alcohol marker sets/color combo suggestions! This digital stamp, Cupcake Treat , by Di's Digital Stamp, was perfect for coloring! I created the background by using tape to mask a criss-cross pattern. I then blended three Distress Ink colors to create a fun, colorful pattern.   I put the image on a light blue cardstock and used some white glitter washi tape to add some interest in the back of the mat. I embossed the "bring on the cake" sentiment from Stampin' Up! I then used my Cricut to cut out the "happy birthday" sentiment and embellished with some sequins!  I submitted this card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #110 Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Week 33 Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge #164 Angies Digital Stamps C...

[Merry Little Wish] Multi-Occasion Card

I've seen so many beautiful projects using Distress Oxides and I finally got my hands on some! I ink blended the background using Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint and Weathered Wood. I splattered some water to create a fun effect. I stamped Stampin Up "Festival Trees" in Intense Black and attached a white circle around it as a frame. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I think white embossing on black is one of my favorite techniques! I embellished with white opaque Nuvo Drops and also with some clear and white sequins. I entered the card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Ch 109 Ally's Angel Challenge #49 TTCRD Anything Goes Challenge Thanks for stopping by! [One in a Mermaid] Multi Occasion Card

I came across this "Beautiful Mermaids" stampset in my collection from Simon Says Stamp. Gorgeous images and perfect for coloring! I made the background by tearing cardstock sheets. The white core of the cardstock really was the perfect touch when tearing, because it gave the effect of the white "foam" that the ocean waves have. I just loved this! I colored the mermaid images with my alcohol markers alongside with the fish, pineapple and starfish. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and propped it up with some foam squares! Finally, I embellished with sequins :) I submitted this card to the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #108 Simon Says: Heat Emboss Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #409 613 Avenue Create:August 2021 - Challenge #8 Dare 2B Artyzy: August Thanks for stopping by! [Thank you Tulips]

I got in the zone coloring this gorgeous Tulip Image from Sheepski Designs. I thought it was so beautiful yet simple, I wanted it to be the main focus of this card. I colored it with my alcohol markers, experimenting more with blending and trying different color combinations. I embossed this "thank you" sentiment with red embossing powder. I decided to layer it on two different Stampin' Up cardstocks to give it some design interest. Of course, I embellished with some sequins!   Thanks for stopping by! [UNFROGETTABLE] Edge-to-Edge Shaker

I do love shaker cards, and I've been seeing this edge-to-edge shaker card trend around and I just had to give it a try! It was actually much easier than I anticipated. I took the navy blue patterned cardstock that was included in my SSS August Card Kit and cut it down to about 5x6. I then cut an acetate sheet slightly larger than the cardstock and folded 3 edged down and taped them with double sided tape. In the open side, I added in my shaker elements (included in the monthly kit) . I taped it up and voila! Shaker element is done!! I stamped the frog and lilypad and colored in with my alcohol markers. I embossed the sentiment in white on green cardstock which I also used as the mounting for my front card panel! It was such a quick and easy card, I'll definitely be making more! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! - Jill

I'd love to check out your card! For the July Challenge, I picked the " Bunny Joy " digital stamp from Sweet N Sassy. I thought this was so adorable! And honestly, I'm also at that point in my life where all my friends are having babies and this just screamed "New Baby" card to me! I am going to need a lot of these cards in the future... I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it in using my Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers. I got these markers as a budget buy from Amazon to see if I even liked working with alcohol markers..and I LOVE them. These were so easy...

[Pink and White Florals] Welcome Baby card

I’m back with another white on white embossed card! I really love this technique-the clean, soft, elegant look it gives! I stamped these flower images and then embossed with white embossing powder. I colored in using a paint brush dipped in my Stampin!Up inks. Lately, I have been drawn to “painting” with inks. It gives an almost watercolor look to it, and I get use out of my ink supply! I decided to split the panel with my paper cutter to make the card a little more unique, I added the “Welcome baby” sentiment with a pink embossing powder and propped it up with my trusty foam squares.   Glued it on some soft pink card stock and attached it to a white card front! Thank you for stopping by! Jill  I submitted this card into the following challenges: A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge #142 - Anything Goes Sisterhood of Crafters-Anything Goes

[White on White] Anniversary Wishes

I've kind of fallen in love with this white on white technique.  I stamped this flower stamp set with embossing ink and then used a matte white embossing powder on top.  Then to color in the flowers,  I used various shades of Stampin' Up! Shades with a small detailed paintbrush.  I used an anniversary sentiment and then embellished with some Nuvo drops!

[All the Colors] Just saying hello

I really loved all the color in this card, and the embossing. Never enough embossing :)  I started off with some white watercolor paper, and painted 6 colored squares with watercolor. I tried to keep in mind that messy was part of the beauty when it came to this card! When it dried, I used the hearts from the "Sending You" stamp set from Winnie & Walter, and stamped with matching inks on top of the colored squares. I used an embossing pen and wrote some sentiments on different colored cardstock strips and embossed with a matte white embossing powder! Added a few layers of different color cardstock for some extra fun and glued it on a card front! Fun and Done!
