Seasonal Scene Building: AECP

Hello everyone! I’m back to share another card for my AECP Level 1 Journey. This card is inspired by the “Seasonal Scene Building” class taught by Nichol Magouirk (Spohr). Building scenes is definitely something I struggle with! I very rarely make cards like this so it was nice to step out of my comfort zone! For this card, I used the Mountain Scene Stencil  as the focal point. I ink blended the mountain landscape and to frame the scene I took a tip from the course, and made a window!! I didn’t have a window die so I just made my own using scraps of white cardstock and I think it worked perfectly. To finish off the card, I used one of my favorite sentiment sets, Label Love, and added a cute sentiment that I thought was very appropriate (and pun-ny) for the mountain scene!  Thanks for stopping by! [Enjoy Today] Simon Says Stamp September Kit #2

I loved this floral bouquet stamp included in the SSS September Card Kit! I colored it in with my alcohol markers and mounted it on some green cardstock that was included in the kit. I also mounted the Tim Holtz sentiment sticker on the same green cardstock. I used a bright yellow cardstock as as the slimline card base. I decided to use these gold seed beads in the flower centers for some added fun and dimension! I entered this card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Ch 114 Make My Monday: #157 Autumn/Fall Card Crafty Catz #564- Anything Goes Polkadoodles: Wk 38 Anything Goes Colour Crazy Challenge: Week 37 Thanks for stopping by! [Me & My Snowman] DT: Get Creative September Challenge

A new month means a new challenge at the  Get Creative Challenges  Blog! The theme for this month is "Anything Goes" and my image, "Me & My Snowman", was sponsored by Star Stampz . Head over to the challenge blog to see the Design Team's lovely creations and submit one of your own! I tend to gravitate towards the same layouts so I looked around for some sketch inspiration and came across this one from "Make the Cards Challenge"! Thought it was unique and fun so decided to follow along! I usually color first and then find matching cardstock, but for this one, I knew I wanted to use my "Farmhouse Christmas" from Echo Park, so I chose the papers first and then colored! I embellished with some opaque colored dots.  I entered this card in the following challenges: QKR Challenge #427 Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #411 Penny's Challenge #504 Crafty creations September Challenge (#425) - Through the Purple Haze: #184 Thanks for ...

[Happy Holidays] Holiday Card

Another lovely image from All Dressed Up for this card! I was still in the mood to play around with my distress oxides so I ink blended the background and stamped some fun white embossed elements.  I colored the image using colored pencils and mounted it on a patterned cardstock that had silver diagonal stripes. I used the "Happy Holiday" sentiment from a wooden stamp I had in my stash and used a piece of bow to embellish it! Lastly, added some winter-y sequins to top it all off! Thanks for stopping by! [Sending love] Multi Occasion Card

Rachelle Ann Miller is a wonderful sponsor over at the  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group  and graciously shared a freebie on her site! I love the sketchy doodle effect and decided to turn this into a mini card. I colored in the image with my alcohol markers and used Nuvo drops in pink to embellish the centers of the flowers. Pink opaque Nuvo drop for the flower centers for some added dimension I had this sentiment in my stash so I stamped it on some white cardstock and mounted it on a green cardstock. I love the simple clean effect of this card, so decided to keep it as is without extra embellishments! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! Jill

[Autumn Smile] Sassy and Crafty Promo #3

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group !  Fall is right around the corner (even though summer felt like 0.2 seconds) so I am definitely getting in the Fall cozy mode. I got this perfectly Fall themed stamp set from Sassy and Crafty "Pumpkin Spice". I colored all the images using alcohol markers and arranged them on the corner of some patterned cardstock. I used some  twine to add some more interest and used opaque yellow and gold dots to embellish. I stamped the sentiment with gold powder on some green cardstock and used twine to make a bow and attached it to the card. Thanks for stopping by! [Never Grow Up] Sassy and Crafty Promo #2

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up" stampset! I also chose the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil! I though this was perfect for many scenes, like beach, ocean or a fantasy/fairy theme like this card! The first thing I did was use Catherine Pooler Ink in "All that Jazz" and the "Mermaid" stencil to make the background. I used the stencil again and embossed over with a blue powder to give it some depth and dimension. I colored the fairy stamped image with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out. On some blue cardstock, I used silver embossing powder and stamped the stars and then stamped the sentiment in a black ink. I arranged the images on a pink cardstock for some contrast and attached it to a card panel :). Love how fun this card turned out! I ent...

[Leave a Little Sparkle] Sassy and Crafty Promo #1

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up"  stampset!  When I saw this set, I started to imagine lots of shine and glitter.  Enter--> Foiling!  I don't have a foiling machine..nor I do I plan to buy one soon but I came across lots of no-heat foiling techniques using  iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo . I used the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil and applied the Transfer Gel Duo. After letting it dry until it was clear, I took pink foil and laid it on top then peeled it off. I like the textured effect this gave, to give a more solid look, I think I would need to add more gel. I wanted to go for a "no line" coloring effect. So I stamped the two fairies in a light brown/tan ink from Stampin' Up. I colored the images in with colored pencil and fussy...

[SQUIRREL!] Sweet Sentiment New Release

Sweet Sentiment  has a new release! How FUN is this stamp set?! I haven't seen one like this before so it was so much to create with. I loved the different nuts that were included and the first thing that came to mind was SHAKER CARD! I printed the nuts multiple times along with the chipmunks and colored them in using alcohol markers. I used a cloud stencil to create a soft sky wash in the background of the card. I attached "The World has gone NUTS" sentiment to the upper right corner of my window shaker panel. I scattered some of the colored nuts and glued them down. I originally wanted the nuts to be my shaker elements but sometimes they would flip upside down and exposed the back of paper-it wasn't too pretty! So decided to glue them down and use seed beads and sequins as my shaker elements. I attached the colored chipmunks around the window shaker pan and added some more nuts too. I think this card is just too fun!   I entered this card in the following challenges...

[Quilter's Sampler] Thinking of You

I had this "Quilter's Sampler"stampset from PaperTray Ink in my collection and haven't played around with it recently so decided to give it a shot today. I stamped a pattern in black ink and colored it in using Prismacolor colored pencils. I cut it out and mounted in on some orange cardstock for some contrast. I decided to make the whole card panel a royal blue to complement the orange. I had this washi tape in my collection which I felt filled the blank space underneath the stamped image nicely. Lastly, I embellished with these enamel dots that I just bought and I love these almost as much as sequins. Almost :). Thanks for stopping by! [Merry Little Wish] Multi-Occasion Card

I've seen so many beautiful projects using Distress Oxides and I finally got my hands on some! I ink blended the background using Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint and Weathered Wood. I splattered some water to create a fun effect. I stamped Stampin Up "Festival Trees" in Intense Black and attached a white circle around it as a frame. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I think white embossing on black is one of my favorite techniques! I embellished with white opaque Nuvo Drops and also with some clear and white sequins. I entered the card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Ch 109 Ally's Angel Challenge #49 TTCRD Anything Goes Challenge Thanks for stopping by! [Fantasy: Cute Witch] DT: The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #272

Hey everyone! We have another lovely challenge at  The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog ! The theme for this challenge is FANTASY sponsored by  Chubby Mermaid . I chose this "Cute Witch Halloween" digital stamp and printed it in white cardstock. I colored it with my alcohol markers.  I looked all around my stash for the right sentiment, but couldn't find one. So I made my own! I took my embossing pen and wrote my sentiment and then embossed in gold glitter. Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! Jill

[Birthday Wishes] Simon Says Stamp August 2021

I was in the mood to craft today and looked around my cardmaking collection and felt compelled to make another card using the August 2021 Simon Says Stamp Kit. I decided to use more of the patterned cardstock this time since it coordinates so well with the stamps in the kit. I stamped the frog, lily pad and crown and colored in using my alcohol markers. I used my Cricut machine to cut a tag with the plaid yellow cardstock and a circle from white cardstock. I am really trying to use my Cricut more for cardmaking! I stamped the "wishing you the best day ever" sentiment that I had in my collection on a kraft cardstock and used foam squares to prop it up a bit. I embellished with some enamel dots!   Be sure to check out my Instagram to see a reel on this card also!  Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! [One in a Mermaid] Multi Occasion Card

I came across this "Beautiful Mermaids" stampset in my collection from Simon Says Stamp. Gorgeous images and perfect for coloring! I made the background by tearing cardstock sheets. The white core of the cardstock really was the perfect touch when tearing, because it gave the effect of the white "foam" that the ocean waves have. I just loved this! I colored the mermaid images with my alcohol markers alongside with the fish, pineapple and starfish. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and propped it up with some foam squares! Finally, I embellished with sequins :) I submitted this card to the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #108 Simon Says: Heat Emboss Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #409 613 Avenue Create:August 2021 - Challenge #8 Dare 2B Artyzy: August Thanks for stopping by! [BIRTHDAY KISSES] Birthday Card

All Dressed Up really has the cutest images! There are so many I have saved to create with later but for this card I used a  freebie from their site. Instead of my usual alcohol markers, I colored these with colored pencils! I mounted the image on red cardstock and then chose this super cute "kiss" patterned paper from the "Get Glam" Recollections patterned paper pack as the background. I rarely make  square cards so decided to make this one a square one!  I heat embossed this cute "Happy Birthday to YOU" sentiment in white on the same red cardstock that I used earlier. Finally, I embellished the card with a white bow! I entered this card in the following challenges: All Dressed Up: July Challenge #119 August 2021 Challenge #90 Crafts Galore Encore Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Anything Goes Polkadoodles Week 31-Anything Goes  Thanks for stopping by! [No one like You] Multi-Occasion Card

I recently organized my clear stamps in a much more easy to find method (head over to my Instagram to see it) and I came across this lovely "Woodland Creatures" stamp set I had from HeroArts. I never used this to make a card so decided to finally put it to use! These mushrooms were colored with my colored pencils and I propped the blue mushroom with some foam tape. I stamped the sentiment (also from the stampset) and added it on some blue cardstock with foam squares. I am ALL ABOUT dimension! I decided to keep it simple and embellished with some Opaque white Nuvo drops!  I have entered this card in the following challenges: QKR Stampede-Anything goes ABMTTC Extra #August Challenge - Anything Goes Color It!Create It! [Flockstar Flamingo] Dustin Pike Freebie

The Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group just opened and we are having lots of fun over there! Great projects and ideas being shared-including a FREE digital image by Dustin Pike! How fun is this beachy flamingo? Head on over to the group to get in on the fun!  If you don't know by now, I love puns..and punny cards. So I came across this cute "Party like a Flockstar" sentiment and typed it up before printing out the flamingo image. I colored in the image with alcohol markers and then added some white accents with my white enamel paint pen. Today was one of those days where I wanted to turn my brain off and craft, so I stuck with pinks and greens for my cardstock panel and mount. I added some green dotted washi tape and embellished with sequins. What's a party without some sparkle!?   Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! [UNFROGETTABLE] Edge-to-Edge Shaker

I do love shaker cards, and I've been seeing this edge-to-edge shaker card trend around and I just had to give it a try! It was actually much easier than I anticipated. I took the navy blue patterned cardstock that was included in my SSS August Card Kit and cut it down to about 5x6. I then cut an acetate sheet slightly larger than the cardstock and folded 3 edged down and taped them with double sided tape. In the open side, I added in my shaker elements (included in the monthly kit) . I taped it up and voila! Shaker element is done!! I stamped the frog and lilypad and colored in with my alcohol markers. I embossed the sentiment in white on green cardstock which I also used as the mounting for my front card panel! It was such a quick and easy card, I'll definitely be making more! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! - Jill

[Sending Hugs] Patterned Paper Series #2

I wanted to share a super quick card using the Make-a-Pond stencil that I received in my Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit. I used the floral stencil and use two shades of pink of my Stampin' Up Ink spots and did a few flowers embossed in silver for a little shine.  Stenciling with my Make-a-pond stencil Another way I like to use patterned paper is the base for my dies! I have this alphabet die set and I die cut the word "hugs." I was originally thinking of a patterned pink paper, but I like the contrast the teal gives.  Using patterned paper for my dies! I stamped the "Sending you" sentiment from Winnie&Walter in black and used foam squares to prop it up for dimension. Finally, I added some sequins for some added sparkle! Thanks for stopping by! [Toadally Awesome] Simon Says Stamp August 2021 Monthly Card Kit

I finally caved and subscribed to the Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card Kit and received my August 2021 Box. It is filled with fun frog, toad and plant related stamps, papers and embellishments! For my first card, of course I had to make a shaker card! I used to find shaker cards so intimidating, but now I'm getting the hang of it. But I came across these foam fronts which make making shaker cards so easy! I had to pop out the foam insert and I stamped the sentiment and butterfly stamps. I stamped the frog image and some extra flowers and butterflies on white cardstock and colored it in with my alcohol markers.  I used the cloud stencil with my Stampin' Up Ink spot to create the sky effect. I filled the shaker card with the frog and flower embellishments that came in my box and added some green sequins for a little extra sparkle (I also feel like I never use green sequins!) These frog and flower embellishments are *toadally* adorable! I love how it turned out! Do you love making ...
