Celebration Stencil Techniques: AECP

Hello everyone! Today’s card showcases my final card after the “Celebration Stencil Techniques” class taught by Laurel Beard for  the  Altenew Educator Certification Program ! I will admit that I don’t use stencils as much as I should..and when I do it is the very basic ink blending use that they are typically used for. I was delighted (and maybe a little scared?!) to see the various ways to use techniques in this class!  The main one I wanted to focus on was using embossing in the background. I used a gorgeous Rose gold embossing powder on the  Deco Wallpaper Stencil . I decided to give it a more “grungy” look by not embossing the whole panel and letting it fade out towards the top. I love how it turned out. I am all for adding as much shine and shimmer as possible so I love this technique.  Next I used the  Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers  stamp and stencil to create the floral images. I used the layering stencil and love ho...

[Floral Birthday Wishes] Simon Says Stamp Card Kit September 2021 #1

I was eagerly awaiting to receive my SSS September 2021 card kit in the mail! I love the sunflower theme and all the patterned papers! I was too excited to make my first card so I made a quick one where I let the paper do all the work :). I LOVE all the papers from the P13 Four Seasons-summer set! I think I will have to buy more! I used the "happy birthday" sentiment die included and cut it twice for some added dimension. I used some gold foil washi tape to add a little extra sparkle and embellished with some gold nuvo drops and sequins!  Thanks for stopping by! [Hoppy Birthday] Kid's Birthday Card

This SimonSaysStamp kit from the August Card Kit has been my go to stamp set for cards for kids! So fun and Playful! I used the patterned paper included in the kit to create the background and then colored in the stamped images with colored pencils. I added "googly eyes" to the frog for a little extra fun 😄 I entered this card in the following challenges: Crafty Calender: September Challenge 'Anything Goes' TaylorMadeCards4U:September 2021 Challenge #9 Crafty Catz #563 Masculine birthday Week 36 - Anything Goes Colouring Challenge Thanks for stopping by! [Happy Hippo] Birthday Card

I was in need of a birthday card for a birthday party this weekend..but was kind of in a creative rut. So I found a sketch online to follow! I realized getting some inspiration is just the boost I needed. I used this super cute hippo image from 2cuteInk . I colored in the hippo with my alcohol markers and used some patterned cardstock for the background. I used some white pearls to embellish the card!  I submitted this card to the following challenge: Tuesday Morning Sketches #622 Thanks for stopping by! [Pheonix and Ella Urban Bestie Doll] DT: The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #273

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing my DT project for  The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog . The theme is "Anything Goes" sponsored by My Besties Shop .  Head on over to the blog and join the fun! Leave a comment if you submit a card, I'd love to see your entry!  The image I used is the "Pheonix and Ella Urban Bestie Doll 01" . I colored this in using my alcohol markers. To create the background I ink blended Stampin' Up Spot Inks in Only Orange and Fuschia. I used masking tape to mask off some stripes. On the stripes, I stamped the sentiment "You're the best" and "So sweet" in alternating stripes.                                           I cut out two different sizes circles from pink and patterned pink cardstock. I stamped a simple "Happy Birthday" in white embossing powder and embellished the card with some sequins!  Thanks for stopping by! Follow ...

[Sending love] Multi Occasion Card

Rachelle Ann Miller is a wonderful sponsor over at the  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group  and graciously shared a freebie on her site! I love the sketchy doodle effect and decided to turn this into a mini card. I colored in the image with my alcohol markers and used Nuvo drops in pink to embellish the centers of the flowers. Pink opaque Nuvo drop for the flower centers for some added dimension I had this sentiment in my stash so I stamped it on some white cardstock and mounted it on a green cardstock. I love the simple clean effect of this card, so decided to keep it as is without extra embellishments! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! Jill

[Never Grow Up] Sassy and Crafty Promo #2

Sassy and Crafty is the lovely sponsor this week at  Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group ! We have lots of fun and a special discount just for this promo!  There were so many stamps to choose from- I decided on the  "Never Grow Up" stampset! I also chose the "Mermaid Tails" Stencil! I though this was perfect for many scenes, like beach, ocean or a fantasy/fairy theme like this card! The first thing I did was use Catherine Pooler Ink in "All that Jazz" and the "Mermaid" stencil to make the background. I used the stencil again and embossed over with a blue powder to give it some depth and dimension. I colored the fairy stamped image with alcohol markers and fussy cut it out. On some blue cardstock, I used silver embossing powder and stamped the stars and then stamped the sentiment in a black ink. I arranged the images on a pink cardstock for some contrast and attached it to a card panel :). Love how fun this card turned out! I ent...

[Cupcake Treat] Di's Digi Stamps Birthday Card

I am still practicing and improving my coloring skills-especially with alcohol markers. I am thinking to buy more colors to expand my set, but haven't taken the plunge yet. Please let me know in the comments any alcohol marker sets/color combo suggestions! This digital stamp, Cupcake Treat , by Di's Digital Stamp, was perfect for coloring! I created the background by using tape to mask a criss-cross pattern. I then blended three Distress Ink colors to create a fun, colorful pattern.   I put the image on a light blue cardstock and used some white glitter washi tape to add some interest in the back of the mat. I embossed the "bring on the cake" sentiment from Stampin' Up! I then used my Cricut to cut out the "happy birthday" sentiment and embellished with some sequins!  I submitted this card in the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #110 Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Week 33 Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge #164 Angies Digital Stamps C...

[SQUIRREL!] Sweet Sentiment New Release

Sweet Sentiment  has a new release! How FUN is this stamp set?! I haven't seen one like this before so it was so much to create with. I loved the different nuts that were included and the first thing that came to mind was SHAKER CARD! I printed the nuts multiple times along with the chipmunks and colored them in using alcohol markers. I used a cloud stencil to create a soft sky wash in the background of the card. I attached "The World has gone NUTS" sentiment to the upper right corner of my window shaker panel. I scattered some of the colored nuts and glued them down. I originally wanted the nuts to be my shaker elements but sometimes they would flip upside down and exposed the back of paper-it wasn't too pretty! So decided to glue them down and use seed beads and sequins as my shaker elements. I attached the colored chipmunks around the window shaker pan and added some more nuts too. I think this card is just too fun!   I entered this card in the following challenges...

[Birthday Wishes] Simon Says Stamp August 2021

I was in the mood to craft today and looked around my cardmaking collection and felt compelled to make another card using the August 2021 Simon Says Stamp Kit. I decided to use more of the patterned cardstock this time since it coordinates so well with the stamps in the kit. I stamped the frog, lily pad and crown and colored in using my alcohol markers. I used my Cricut machine to cut a tag with the plaid yellow cardstock and a circle from white cardstock. I am really trying to use my Cricut more for cardmaking! I stamped the "wishing you the best day ever" sentiment that I had in my collection on a kraft cardstock and used foam squares to prop it up a bit. I embellished with some enamel dots!   Be sure to check out my Instagram to see a reel on this card also!  Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! [One in a Mermaid] Multi Occasion Card

I came across this "Beautiful Mermaids" stampset in my collection from Simon Says Stamp. Gorgeous images and perfect for coloring! I made the background by tearing cardstock sheets. The white core of the cardstock really was the perfect touch when tearing, because it gave the effect of the white "foam" that the ocean waves have. I just loved this! I colored the mermaid images with my alcohol markers alongside with the fish, pineapple and starfish. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and propped it up with some foam squares! Finally, I embellished with sequins :) I submitted this card to the following challenges: Crafting Happiness Challenge #108 Simon Says: Heat Emboss Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #409 613 Avenue Create:August 2021 - Challenge #8 Dare 2B Artyzy: August Thanks for stopping by! [BIRTHDAY KISSES] Birthday Card

All Dressed Up really has the cutest images! There are so many I have saved to create with later but for this card I used a  freebie from their site. Instead of my usual alcohol markers, I colored these with colored pencils! I mounted the image on red cardstock and then chose this super cute "kiss" patterned paper from the "Get Glam" Recollections patterned paper pack as the background. I rarely make  square cards so decided to make this one a square one!  I heat embossed this cute "Happy Birthday to YOU" sentiment in white on the same red cardstock that I used earlier. Finally, I embellished the card with a white bow! I entered this card in the following challenges: All Dressed Up: July Challenge #119 August 2021 Challenge #90 Crafts Galore Encore Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Anything Goes Polkadoodles Week 31-Anything Goes  Thanks for stopping by! [Party Cats] DT: The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #271

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing my DT project for The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog . The theme is "Anything Goes" sponsored by Digi Doodle Studio . Head on over to the blog and join the fun! Leave a comment if you submit a card, I'd love to see your entry!  I chose the "Party Cats" image by DigiDoodles! I colored in the image with my very loved alcohol markers.   I felt it still needed a little something extra, so I reprinted the image and cut out some accents (balloons, and the party blowouts) and propped them up with some foam tape. I also embossed the tops of the party hats for some extra glitter! I stamped the "it's your birthday" sentiment three times on pink and teal cardstock and then aligned it vertically. Lastly, I mounted it on a yellow cardstock to really make it pop! I have entered this card in the following challenges: QKR Stampede-Anything goes ABMTTC Extra #August Challenge - Anything Goes Color It!Create It! Show it off! Augus...

[Flockstar Flamingo] Dustin Pike Freebie

The Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group just opened and we are having lots of fun over there! Great projects and ideas being shared-including a FREE digital image by Dustin Pike! How fun is this beachy flamingo? Head on over to the group to get in on the fun!  If you don't know by now, I love puns..and punny cards. So I came across this cute "Party like a Flockstar" sentiment and typed it up before printing out the flamingo image. I colored in the image with alcohol markers and then added some white accents with my white enamel paint pen. Today was one of those days where I wanted to turn my brain off and craft, so I stuck with pinks and greens for my cardstock panel and mount. I added some green dotted washi tape and embellished with sequins. What's a party without some sparkle!?   Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! [UNFROGETTABLE] Edge-to-Edge Shaker

I do love shaker cards, and I've been seeing this edge-to-edge shaker card trend around and I just had to give it a try! It was actually much easier than I anticipated. I took the navy blue patterned cardstock that was included in my SSS August Card Kit and cut it down to about 5x6. I then cut an acetate sheet slightly larger than the cardstock and folded 3 edged down and taped them with double sided tape. In the open side, I added in my shaker elements (included in the monthly kit) . I taped it up and voila! Shaker element is done!! I stamped the frog and lilypad and colored in with my alcohol markers. I embossed the sentiment in white on green cardstock which I also used as the mounting for my front card panel! It was such a quick and easy card, I'll definitely be making more! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! - Jill

[Toadally Awesome] Simon Says Stamp August 2021 Monthly Card Kit

I finally caved and subscribed to the Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card Kit and received my August 2021 Box. It is filled with fun frog, toad and plant related stamps, papers and embellishments! For my first card, of course I had to make a shaker card! I used to find shaker cards so intimidating, but now I'm getting the hang of it. But I came across these foam fronts which make making shaker cards so easy! I had to pop out the foam insert and I stamped the sentiment and butterfly stamps. I stamped the frog image and some extra flowers and butterflies on white cardstock and colored it in with my alcohol markers.  I used the cloud stencil with my Stampin' Up Ink spot to create the sky effect. I filled the shaker card with the frog and flower embellishments that came in my box and added some green sequins for a little extra sparkle (I also feel like I never use green sequins!) These frog and flower embellishments are *toadally* adorable! I love how it turned out! Do you love making ...

[Oceans of Joy] Multi-Occasion Card

I am still building my cardmaking collection, and it is SO easy to get into the blackhole of buying endless craft supplies. I really need to stop myself. I came across this adorable ocean themed stamp set,  Oceans of Joy , from Sunny Studio Stamps! Head on over to my Instagram to see a reel on how I made this card!     I wanted to create a fun wavey background so I took some scrap cardstock and cut a "wave" pattern and used it as my stencil with a blending sponge and my Stampin' Up spot inks. I LOVE how it turned out. I wanted to add more texture so I purposefully blended with differing pressures to get some texture in the background. I can't wait to make and use more stencils in my cardmaking. I stamped the sentiment, whale, crab, and water images using my misty on some textured white cardstock and colored in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. In hindsight, I wish I had used a smooth white cardstock instead, as it makes the coloring look a little messier than I...

[Playful Animals] Kid's Card

I was looking through my stash and realized there was a shortage of “kid-friendly” cards...you know with fun coloring, colors and images. I came across this stamp set by Hero Arts “Playful Animals” which seemed like the perfect set to make a cute card! I stamped the images in black ink on white card stock and colored them using my Prismacolor colored pencil. I also stamped the sentiment phrases from the same stamped set.. For a little extra fun, I stamped a few animals on a strip of white cardstock and mounted it on a forest green cardstock. I fussy cute two leaves that I stamped and colored and propped them up with foam tape.    Thanks for stopping by! Jill

[Bring on the Cake] Birthday Shaker

Introducing..my first shaker card! This is SO fun! And I will TOTALLY be making more of these. I also realized I was a little too stingy with the sequins in the shaker element..::note to self:: the more sequins the better!   I used the Hero Arts "Birthday Messages" Stamp set. I stamped the cake image first on a light turquoise cardstock and embossed it in gold and then stamped the "Happy Birthday" message and embossed in turquoise. I then die cut the oval frame for the shaker element and propped it off with some foam tape!  Shake it off!  ::cue music here:: Thanks for stopping by! Jill

[Ballerina Birthday] Hello card

I was first introduced to cardmaking with the use of rubber/polymer stamps, and just recently discovered digital stamps. And all I have to say is..where have I been?? They need less storage and are less mess (don't need to worry about getting a perfect black outlined stamped image). I also love being able to color with alcohol markers or colored pencils easily!  I'm using this digital stamp set by All Dressed Up. How adorable is this? It was originally a Christmas stamp but can be easily used for other occasions-I just covered the star with another star (like a birthday! Which I intend to use it for here) I used my Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers to color the image. Check out my Instagram page for a sneak peak into a "color with me" for this image. I added some embossing accents..the hair clip, tutu, and wings to add some detail.  I cut out another star and embossed it with yellow embossing powder and popped it up with some foam squares.             ...
