Ink Blending Techniques: AECP

Hello everyone! I’ve been working away diligently on the AECP courses and loving every minute. This card is inspired by the “Ink Blending Techniques” course taught by Amy Lee.  First I masked off a border from the card panel, so that when I ink blend I would be left with a thick white border. I combined a few techniques discussed in the course such as the emboss resist and ink blending the background panel. I embossed the flowers from the “Charming Flowers” stampset in white. This might be an exclusive stampset from the “SCT Crop and Create” event since I am not finding it on the website.  Then I ink blended Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Grapes, and Blueprint Sketch on top. I chose darker colors to really show a strong contrast against the white embossing. It looks stunning! Next, I cut out the “Hello Friend” sentiment from the  Craft Your Life Project Kit: Sunshine Flowers . I did the background in vellum to soften the look and did the sentime...

[Me & My Snowman] DT: Get Creative September Challenge

A new month means a new challenge at the  Get Creative Challenges  Blog! The theme for this month is "Anything Goes" and my image, "Me & My Snowman", was sponsored by Star Stampz . Head over to the challenge blog to see the Design Team's lovely creations and submit one of your own! I tend to gravitate towards the same layouts so I looked around for some sketch inspiration and came across this one from "Make the Cards Challenge"! Thought it was unique and fun so decided to follow along! I usually color first and then find matching cardstock, but for this one, I knew I wanted to use my "Farmhouse Christmas" from Echo Park, so I chose the papers first and then colored! I embellished with some opaque colored dots.  I entered this card in the following challenges: QKR Challenge #427 Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #411 Penny's Challenge #504 Crafty creations September Challenge (#425) - Through the Purple Haze: #184 Thanks for ...

[Happy Holidays] Holiday Card

Another lovely image from All Dressed Up for this card! I was still in the mood to play around with my distress oxides so I ink blended the background and stamped some fun white embossed elements.  I colored the image using colored pencils and mounted it on a patterned cardstock that had silver diagonal stripes. I used the "Happy Holiday" sentiment from a wooden stamp I had in my stash and used a piece of bow to embellish it! Lastly, added some winter-y sequins to top it all off! Thanks for stopping by!
