[Me & My Snowman] DT: Get Creative September Challenge

A new month means a new challenge at the Get Creative Challenges Blog! The theme for this month is "Anything Goes" and my image, "Me & My Snowman", was sponsored by Star Stampz. Head over to the challenge blog to see the Design Team's lovely creations and submit one of your own!

I tend to gravitate towards the same layouts so I looked around for some sketch inspiration and came across this one from "Make the Cards Challenge"! Thought it was unique and fun so decided to follow along!

I usually color first and then find matching cardstock, but for this one, I knew I wanted to use my "Farmhouse Christmas" from Echo Park, so I chose the papers first and then colored! I embellished with some opaque colored dots.

I entered this card in the following challenges:

QKR Challenge #427

Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #411

Penny's Challenge #504

Crafty creations September Challenge (#425) -

Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on Instagram for more cards, reels and crafty fun!

  1. Hi Jill

That's a great sketch and I love the card you made using it. Your colouring is lovely.

Now, if you climb the Tree House ladder you can come and join in with the Snippets Playground mischief this week while Miss Di is incapacitated and can't reach us up there!

Thanks for playing in the Snippets Playground.
Hugs from the Snippets Head Prefect. x

  4. Hello again Jill - so lovely to see you playing with us again. I love your card - such a sweet image as well as a brilliant layout.

A little word about Sarn's comment and the party in the treehouse - she's a little Miss Mischief, and hasn't realised that I've taught Dudley how to climb up into the treehouse and report back to me! Grin. xx

    Hugs

[Salt and Pepper] Brutus Monroe

Hey all! Valentine's Day is right around the corner!  I created this card by cutting  paper strips from the "Be Mine" Paper pad and staggering them on the left side. Then I stamped the "Salt&Pepper" stamp and sentiment using Detail Ink in Raven and colored it in with alcohol markers.  Thanks for stopping by! [Oceans of Joy] Multi-Occasion Card

I am still building my cardmaking collection, and it is SO easy to get into the blackhole of buying endless craft supplies. I really need to stop myself. I came across this adorable ocean themed stamp set,  Oceans of Joy , from Sunny Studio Stamps! Head on over to my Instagram to see a reel on how I made this card!     I wanted to create a fun wavey background so I took some scrap cardstock and cut a "wave" pattern and used it as my stencil with a blending sponge and my Stampin' Up spot inks. I LOVE how it turned out. I wanted to add more texture so I purposefully blended with differing pressures to get some texture in the background. I can't wait to make and use more stencils in my cardmaking. I stamped the sentiment, whale, crab, and water images using my misty on some textured white cardstock and colored in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. In hindsight, I wish I had used a smooth white cardstock instead, as it makes the coloring look a little messier than I...

All About Layering 3: AECP

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!! I was recently accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program and can’t think of a better way to start off the year!  I think anyone who is a floral lover knows that Altenew has some of THE best stamps, dies and stencils. It was one of the first brands I purchased when I started out my paper crafting journey. Of course, they have so much more than florals in their shop and I am so excited to dive into this process. I’ve already started some of the classes and it has really reinvigorated my passion for crafting and card making. I’ve brushed on some techniques and also picked up some really great tips along the way! Let’s take a closer look at the first class I completed… The first class I did was the “All About Layering 3” course taught by Lydia Evans. To be honest, I went into this course thinking I was a Layering Expert (dare I say, Layering Queen .. I don’t think I’ve ever made a card without some sort of layering)…but to my surprise, I...
