[Lotus Blossom] Get Well Card

I'm a creature of habit, anyone else? I feel like my card layouts were starting to look the same so I decided to mix up the layout a bit with different patterned papers. I used the "Lotus Blossom" Layering stamps from Stampin' Up for the first time and am loving how the flower turned out! I cut out the flower bud from the stem and propped it up with some foam squares. I cut out a small rectangle cardstock and mounted that on different designer papers from Stampin' Up. I decided not to embellish this card with sequins to give it a nice clean and simple look!  Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! Jill

[Thank you Tulips]

I got in the zone coloring this gorgeous Tulip Image from Sheepski Designs. I thought it was so beautiful yet simple, I wanted it to be the main focus of this card. I colored it with my alcohol markers, experimenting more with blending and trying different color combinations. I embossed this "thank you" sentiment with red embossing powder. I decided to layer it on two different Stampin' Up cardstocks to give it some design interest. Of course, I embellished with some sequins!   Thanks for stopping by! [Flockstar Flamingo] Dustin Pike Freebie

The Passionate Paper Crafters and Family Facebook Group just opened and we are having lots of fun over there! Great projects and ideas being shared-including a FREE digital image by Dustin Pike! How fun is this beachy flamingo? Head on over to the group to get in on the fun!  If you don't know by now, I love puns..and punny cards. So I came across this cute "Party like a Flockstar" sentiment and typed it up before printing out the flamingo image. I colored in the image with alcohol markers and then added some white accents with my white enamel paint pen. Today was one of those days where I wanted to turn my brain off and craft, so I stuck with pinks and greens for my cardstock panel and mount. I added some green dotted washi tape and embellished with sequins. What's a party without some sparkle!?   Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! [UNFROGETTABLE] Edge-to-Edge Shaker

I do love shaker cards, and I've been seeing this edge-to-edge shaker card trend around and I just had to give it a try! It was actually much easier than I anticipated. I took the navy blue patterned cardstock that was included in my SSS August Card Kit and cut it down to about 5x6. I then cut an acetate sheet slightly larger than the cardstock and folded 3 edged down and taped them with double sided tape. In the open side, I added in my shaker elements (included in the monthly kit) . I taped it up and voila! Shaker element is done!! I stamped the frog and lilypad and colored in with my alcohol markers. I embossed the sentiment in white on green cardstock which I also used as the mounting for my front card panel! It was such a quick and easy card, I'll definitely be making more! Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! - Jill

[Sending Hugs] Patterned Paper Series #2

I wanted to share a super quick card using the Make-a-Pond stencil that I received in my Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit. I used the floral stencil and use two shades of pink of my Stampin' Up Ink spots and did a few flowers embossed in silver for a little shine.  Stenciling with my Make-a-pond stencil Another way I like to use patterned paper is the base for my dies! I have this alphabet die set and I die cut the word "hugs." I was originally thinking of a patterned pink paper, but I like the contrast the teal gives.  Using patterned paper for my dies! I stamped the "Sending you" sentiment from Winnie&Walter in black and used foam squares to prop it up for dimension. Finally, I added some sequins for some added sparkle! Thanks for stopping by! [Toadally Awesome] Simon Says Stamp August 2021 Monthly Card Kit

I finally caved and subscribed to the Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card Kit and received my August 2021 Box. It is filled with fun frog, toad and plant related stamps, papers and embellishments! For my first card, of course I had to make a shaker card! I used to find shaker cards so intimidating, but now I'm getting the hang of it. But I came across these foam fronts which make making shaker cards so easy! I had to pop out the foam insert and I stamped the sentiment and butterfly stamps. I stamped the frog image and some extra flowers and butterflies on white cardstock and colored it in with my alcohol markers.  I used the cloud stencil with my Stampin' Up Ink spot to create the sky effect. I filled the shaker card with the frog and flower embellishments that came in my box and added some green sequins for a little extra sparkle (I also feel like I never use green sequins!) These frog and flower embellishments are *toadally* adorable! I love how it turned out! Do you love making ...

[Oceans of Joy] Multi-Occasion Card

I am still building my cardmaking collection, and it is SO easy to get into the blackhole of buying endless craft supplies. I really need to stop myself. I came across this adorable ocean themed stamp set,  Oceans of Joy , from Sunny Studio Stamps! Head on over to my Instagram to see a reel on how I made this card!     I wanted to create a fun wavey background so I took some scrap cardstock and cut a "wave" pattern and used it as my stencil with a blending sponge and my Stampin' Up spot inks. I LOVE how it turned out. I wanted to add more texture so I purposefully blended with differing pressures to get some texture in the background. I can't wait to make and use more stencils in my cardmaking. I stamped the sentiment, whale, crab, and water images using my misty on some textured white cardstock and colored in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. In hindsight, I wish I had used a smooth white cardstock instead, as it makes the coloring look a little messier than I...

[Hello Beautiful] Patterned Paper Series #1

Okay, I will admit I am a girly girl. and this card made me all kinds of happy. I came across this freebie from  All Dressed Up Stamps  and immediately had so many ideas. I first gravitated towards a solid cardstock as my mounting base but then decided to have some fun with patterned cardstock. I have lots of patterns but find myself being too afraid to mix and match patterns. Hence, explaining the origin of  my "Patterned Paper Series." I colored in the digital image using alcohol markers on white cardstock. I had a patterned paperpad from Recollections called "Get Glam" and used one of the "hello beautiful" sentiments that was already printed on the paper. I attached it with some foam squares to give a little added dimension. Easy right?! I mounted it on a hot pink cardstock and then mounted the whole set on a white and black polka dot cardstock from the same paperpad. Not only do I love using patterned paper as a background, but I also like using it fo...

[Layered Up] The Crafter's Cafe Challenge #270

Exciting news....I've joined another Design Team as part of The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog! I'm so excited for this opportunity! It's been so fun seeing the previous work of the other team members and getting to know the team.  There are challenges twice a month (on the 1st and 15th) with sponsors and prizes! Check it out and be sure to submit your creations- I can't wait to see them. Now on to the challenge.... The theme was "Layered Up" and the digital image I chose, Fred's Dahlia's, was sponsored by Fred She Said .  There's about a billion different ways you can use these floral and leaves images! Endless possibilities.  I printed these images on White cardstock (I printed the images in multiple sizes to get more variety) and colored them in using colored pencils. I embossed the flower and leave centers with gold embossing powder. I love adding little details in my cards! The hardest part was arranging the florals..I just couldn't de...

[Summer Sweet] Multi-occasion Card

Is it really summer without ice cream? I think not.  I actually found this clear stamp set at the Dollar Tree! I got these about a year ago when I was still building my cardmaking collection and just thought this set was "SO SWEET", had to get it. This card was so quick and easy!! I stamped these images on White cardstock with embossing ink and then embossed in gold.  I used my alcohol markers to color them in bright summery colors. I also embossed the sentiment in gold on a fuchsia cardstock. I mounted it on a cardboard and added some nuvo drops in fuchsia and turquoise for a pop of color!  Thanks for stopping by! I have entered this card to the following challenges: 613 Avenue-July Challenge Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on  Instagram  for more cards, reels and crafty fun! Jill

[Playful Animals] Kid's Card

I was looking through my stash and realized there was a shortage of “kid-friendly” cards...you know with fun coloring, colors and images. I came across this stamp set by Hero Arts “Playful Animals” which seemed like the perfect set to make a cute card! I stamped the images in black ink on white card stock and colored them using my Prismacolor colored pencil. I also stamped the sentiment phrases from the same stamped set.. For a little extra fun, I stamped a few animals on a strip of white cardstock and mounted it on a forest green cardstock. I fussy cute two leaves that I stamped and colored and propped them up with foam tape.    Thanks for stopping by! Jill

[Bring on the Cake] Birthday Shaker

Introducing..my first shaker card! This is SO fun! And I will TOTALLY be making more of these. I also realized I was a little too stingy with the sequins in the shaker element..::note to self:: the more sequins the better!   I used the Hero Arts "Birthday Messages" Stamp set. I stamped the cake image first on a light turquoise cardstock and embossed it in gold and then stamped the "Happy Birthday" message and embossed in turquoise. I then die cut the oval frame for the shaker element and propped it off with some foam tape!  Shake it off!  ::cue music here:: Thanks for stopping by! Jill

[Bunny Joy] July: Get Creative Challenge DT

I joined my first Design Team at  Get Creative Challenges ! Crafting and creating is one of my favorite hobbies and I am so excited for the opportunity to be inspired and motivate myself to keep creating. Head on over to the blog to see the challenges and submit your own creations! There are winners and prizes chosen for each challenge!   Please let me know in a comment if you enter the challenge! I'd love to check out your card! For the July Challenge, I picked the " Bunny Joy " digital stamp from Sweet N Sassy. I thought this was so adorable! And honestly, I'm also at that point in my life where all my friends are having babies and this just screamed "New Baby" card to me! I am going to need a lot of these cards in the future... I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it in using my Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers. I got these markers as a budget buy from Amazon to see if I even liked working with alcohol markers..and I LOVE them. These were so easy...

[Ballerina Birthday] Hello card

I was first introduced to cardmaking with the use of rubber/polymer stamps, and just recently discovered digital stamps. And all I have to say is..where have I been?? They need less storage and are less mess (don't need to worry about getting a perfect black outlined stamped image). I also love being able to color with alcohol markers or colored pencils easily!  I'm using this digital stamp set by All Dressed Up. How adorable is this? It was originally a Christmas stamp but can be easily used for other occasions-I just covered the star with another star (like a birthday! Which I intend to use it for here) I used my Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers to color the image. Check out my Instagram page for a sneak peak into a "color with me" for this image. I added some embossing accents..the hair clip, tutu, and wings to add some detail.  I cut out another star and embossed it with yellow embossing powder and popped it up with some foam squares.             ...

[Pink and White Florals] Welcome Baby card

I’m back with another white on white embossed card! I really love this technique-the clean, soft, elegant look it gives! I stamped these flower images and then embossed with white embossing powder. I colored in using a paint brush dipped in my Stampin!Up inks. Lately, I have been drawn to “painting” with inks. It gives an almost watercolor look to it, and I get use out of my ink supply! I decided to split the panel with my paper cutter to make the card a little more unique, I added the “Welcome baby” sentiment with a pink embossing powder and propped it up with my trusty foam squares.   Glued it on some soft pink card stock and attached it to a white card front! Thank you for stopping by! Jill  I submitted this card into the following challenges: A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge #142 - Anything Goes Sisterhood of Crafters-Anything Goes
