[Bunny Joy] July: Get Creative Challenge DT

I joined my first Design Team at Get Creative Challenges! Crafting and creating is one of my favorite hobbies and I am so excited for the opportunity to be inspired and motivate myself to keep creating. Head on over to the blog to see the challenges and submit your own creations! There are winners and prizes chosen for each challenge!  Please let me know in a comment if you enter the challenge! I'd love to check out your card!

For the July Challenge, I picked the "Bunny Joy" digital stamp from Sweet N Sassy. I thought this was so adorable! And honestly, I'm also at that point in my life where all my friends are having babies and this just screamed "New Baby" card to me! I am going to need a lot of these cards in the future...

I printed the image on white cardstock and colored it in using my Shuttle Art Alcohol Markers. I got these markers as a budget buy from Amazon to see if I even liked working with alcohol markers..and I LOVE them. These were so easy to blend. I am definitely going to have to invest in another set soon as some of mine are starting to dry out. Besides Copic markers, does anyone have any other recommendations?

As much as I loved the colored image, it felt a little flat so I embossed select elements of the image. This really made it pop and added some more dimension that I felt the card was lacking.

Loved how the embossed elements turned out!

I found an “Oh baby” sentiment in my collection which I propped up with foam squares and then added a white ribbon and bow to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!

I entered the card in the following challenges:

[Salt and Pepper] Brutus Monroe

Hey all! Valentine's Day is right around the corner!  I created this card by cutting  paper strips from the "Be Mine" Paper pad and staggering them on the left side. Then I stamped the "Salt&Pepper" stamp and sentiment using Detail Ink in Raven and colored it in with alcohol markers.  Thanks for stopping by! [Oceans of Joy] Multi-Occasion Card

I am still building my cardmaking collection, and it is SO easy to get into the blackhole of buying endless craft supplies. I really need to stop myself. I came across this adorable ocean themed stamp set,  Oceans of Joy , from Sunny Studio Stamps! Head on over to my Instagram to see a reel on how I made this card!     I wanted to create a fun wavey background so I took some scrap cardstock and cut a "wave" pattern and used it as my stencil with a blending sponge and my Stampin' Up spot inks. I LOVE how it turned out. I wanted to add more texture so I purposefully blended with differing pressures to get some texture in the background. I can't wait to make and use more stencils in my cardmaking. I stamped the sentiment, whale, crab, and water images using my misty on some textured white cardstock and colored in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. In hindsight, I wish I had used a smooth white cardstock instead, as it makes the coloring look a little messier than I...

All About Layering 3: AECP

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!! I was recently accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program and can’t think of a better way to start off the year!  I think anyone who is a floral lover knows that Altenew has some of THE best stamps, dies and stencils. It was one of the first brands I purchased when I started out my paper crafting journey. Of course, they have so much more than florals in their shop and I am so excited to dive into this process. I’ve already started some of the classes and it has really reinvigorated my passion for crafting and card making. I’ve brushed on some techniques and also picked up some really great tips along the way! Let’s take a closer look at the first class I completed… The first class I did was the “All About Layering 3” course taught by Lydia Evans. To be honest, I went into this course thinking I was a Layering Expert (dare I say, Layering Queen .. I don’t think I’ve ever made a card without some sort of layering)…but to my surprise, I...
