All About Layering 4: AECP

Hello everyone! I’ve been working away on the Level 1 classes for the Altenew Educator Certification Program and wanted to share my card for the All About Layering 4 class taught by Lydia Evans.

This class was another super fun layering class that was filled with tidbits of tips and information! I die cut a banner from the Celebratory Banner Set and as mentioned in the class, I cut it from the card front for added interest. I really loved this idea and think it gives a unique touch to cards that I don't do often.

I die cut the different banner pieces in various cardstocks and metallics to create a fun but simple layered look.

Lastly, I die cut the flower out a light pink cardstock and ink blended the edges and center with a darker pink ink. I then went over it with alcohol markers to create a fun “painted” look. I used a sheet of patterned paper from the A Love for Stripes pack and placed it behind the card front.

I’m excited to learn more skills and techniques so I hope you come back to check out my future projects for the program!
Thanks for stopping by! Follow me on Instagram for more cards, reels and crafty fun!

[Oceans of Joy] Multi-Occasion Card

I am still building my cardmaking collection, and it is SO easy to get into the blackhole of buying endless craft supplies. I really need to stop myself. I came across this adorable ocean themed stamp set,  Oceans of Joy , from Sunny Studio Stamps! Head on over to my Instagram to see a reel on how I made this card!     I wanted to create a fun wavey background so I took some scrap cardstock and cut a "wave" pattern and used it as my stencil with a blending sponge and my Stampin' Up spot inks. I LOVE how it turned out. I wanted to add more texture so I purposefully blended with differing pressures to get some texture in the background. I can't wait to make and use more stencils in my cardmaking. I stamped the sentiment, whale, crab, and water images using my misty on some textured white cardstock and colored in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. In hindsight, I wish I had used a smooth white cardstock instead, as it makes the coloring look a little messier than I...

All About Layering 3: AECP

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!! I was recently accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program and can’t think of a better way to start off the year!  I think anyone who is a floral lover knows that Altenew has some of THE best stamps, dies and stencils. It was one of the first brands I purchased when I started out my paper crafting journey. Of course, they have so much more than florals in their shop and I am so excited to dive into this process. I’ve already started some of the classes and it has really reinvigorated my passion for crafting and card making. I’ve brushed on some techniques and also picked up some really great tips along the way! Let’s take a closer look at the first class I completed… The first class I did was the “All About Layering 3” course taught by Lydia Evans. To be honest, I went into this course thinking I was a Layering Expert (dare I say, Layering Queen .. I don’t think I’ve ever made a card without some sort of layering)…but to my surprise, I...

Adult Sippy Cup: Pajama Crafter Stamps

Hey all! Happy Wednesday! I'm shaking things up today with a shaker card using the  Adult Sippy Cup  die from Pajama Crafter Stamps. First, I did some "ink smooshing" on the background to create a watercolor, marbled look. I then topped off the card with sentiments from the " Chuggin On " stampset.  Thanks for stopping by! Jill
