[Birthday Cupcakes] Watercolor Wash

Birthday Cards are one of my favorites to make-the possibilities are endless. I’ve been wanting to experiment with watercolor more, so decided to create a watercolor wash background for this card. For the images, I used the wooden stamp set “Birthday Cupcakes” from Hero Arts and colored in using Prismacolor colored pencils. I fussy cut them out and propped them with some foam tape on a strip of white card stock to contrast the background. Lastly, I embellished with some sequins (my favorite way to embellish!). What’s your favorite way to embellish? Thank you for stopping by! I have submitted the card to the following challenges: Through the Craft Room Door ATG Challenge 22nd June 2021 Colour Crazy Craft Challenge: Week 25 - Anything Goes Colouring Challenge Penny’s Challenge #499 A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge #142 - Anything Goes SheepSki Designs Challenge #51 - Layer It Up

[Watercolor Anemones] Thinking of you

This was one of the first cards I created using layering stamps sets! It used the layering stamp set, Watercolor Anemones, from WPlus9. I thought I'd experiment with using the same color layered multiple times for the flowers instead of using various layering colors. I love the subtle effect it gives! I added a few Nuvo drops on top and topped it off with a "sending you love" sentiment. This can be used for multiple occasions!

[White on White] Anniversary Wishes

I've kind of fallen in love with this white on white technique.  I stamped this flower stamp set with embossing ink and then used a matte white embossing powder on top.  Then to color in the flowers,  I used various shades of Stampin' Up! Shades with a small detailed paintbrush.  I used an anniversary sentiment and then embellished with some Nuvo drops!

[All the Colors] Just saying hello

I really loved all the color in this card, and the embossing. Never enough embossing :)  I started off with some white watercolor paper, and painted 6 colored squares with watercolor. I tried to keep in mind that messy was part of the beauty when it came to this card! When it dried, I used the hearts from the "Sending You" stamp set from Winnie & Walter, and stamped with matching inks on top of the colored squares. I used an embossing pen and wrote some sentiments on different colored cardstock strips and embossed with a matte white embossing powder! Added a few layers of different color cardstock for some extra fun and glued it on a card front! Fun and Done!

[Yellow and White] Sympathy Card

The sentiment from this card is from Stampin' Up! called Close as a memory. I propped the sentiment up with some foam squares and attached to a yellow cardstock. I cut out a triangle from a coordinating yellow patterned stock to add some more interest and topped it off with a bow. As much as I love embellishments, this card felt complete without any!

[Bring on the Cake] Birthday Card

I love detailed card as much as I love the "Clean and Simple" look! I used the Stampin' Up! Bring on the Cake stamp set to create this card. I wanted to use the "Happy Birthday" sentiment included in this stamp set, but did not like the "Happy Birthday" writing on the cake stamp itself, so I covered it up with a matching strip from the background cardstock. I think it tied the card together nicely.  I colored in the cake image and the sentiment with Prismacolor colored pencils and attached it to red patterned cardstock (Stampin' Up! brand, I can't recall the exact name but it was one of the holiday designer packs!). I added a few foam squares for some added dimension and interest. Finally, I wrapped it up with a cute white bow and embellished with gold sequins. Love how the final card turned out!
